Dr Laurencia Govender is a registered dietitian, researcher, and Senior Lecturer in the Discipline of Dietetics and Human Nutrition at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). She lectures second- and third-year undergraduate students and supervises fourth-year, master’s, and PhD students. She holds a BSc, Postgraduate Diploma, MSc (summa cum laude), and PhD in Dietetics from UKZN.
Before entering academia, she practised as a Clinical Dietitian at Harry Gwala Regional Hospital, where she also served as an accredited training dietitian for final-year UKZN dietetics students. She is an NRF Y2-rated researcher and has presented her work at both national and international conferences.
