Dr Bonisiwe Mbatha joined the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2011 as a technician in the discipline of Medical Microbiology. She then moved to the discipline of Physiology where she worked as a technician. She has also worked for the School of Life Sciences as a Principal Technician from 2014 to 2018 and later rejoined the School of Laboratory Medicine & Medical Sciences as a Principal Technician in Physiology. She has also worked for the Medical Research Council (MRC) and National Health Laboratory Services (NHLS) as a Research Technologist and a Lab Assistant. She holds a PhD degree in Physiology, a Master’s degree in Physiology, an honours degree in Medical Microbiology and a BSc degree in Biochemistry.
