BIOSKETCH
Dr Mkhwanazi is a Physiology lecturer in the discipline of Dietetics and Human nutrition, specializing in physiology, pathophysiology. He has experience in teaching, curriculum design, undergraduate and postgraduate student mentorship. His research adopts a multidisciplinary approach to address critical public health challenges. His primary research focus explores the relationship between obesity, diabetes, food addiction, disordered eating, and mental health. He also investigates the pharmacological management of diabetes through innovative therapies, including nanotechnology and medicinal plants. In addition, he has a growing interest in the application of bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) as a non-invasive tool for screening and monitoring metabolic conditions.
