ReachIT: A tiered approach to building an interactive postgraduate online platform and research hub for learning, networking & mentorship in the College of Health Sciences, UKZN.     

The overarching aim of the ReachIT project is to design, develop, and implement a tiered, interactive, and contextually relevant online research support platform for postgraduate students and supervisors within the College of Health Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). The platform seeks to improve research learning experiences, enhance supervision quality, and ultimately increase research output and postgraduate throughput across disciplines.

About The Project

Background

ReachIT is a multi-tiered research project which includes six studies with the final goal being a fully functional online hub for post-graduate researchers and supervisors.

The proposed six study titles are as follows:

  1. Perspectives of Postgraduate Students and Supervisors in Health Sciences at a South African University.
  2. Global Perspectives of Postgraduate Research Students in Health Sciences: A Scoping Review 
  3. Global perspectives of postgraduate research supervisors in health sciences: A scoping review. 
  4. Scoping review on: The role of technology in shaping post-graduate research supervision practices in healthcare: a scoping review.  
  5. The effects of an interactive online platform for healthcare research on the postgraduate learning experience at a South African university: A longitudinal study
  6. ReachIT: The outcomes of an online platform enabling a guided postgraduate health science learning experience at a South African university
